Belinda is currently an Adviser with the Behavioural Economics Team of the Australian Government (BETA) in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. BETA is the Australian Government's central unit for applying behavioural insights (BI) to public policy. BETA conducts a range of qualitative and quantitative research to provide rigorous, behavioural evidence that improves government policy.
Belinda has a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from the University of Western Australia. Her PhD research looked at how repeating evidence affects people's conclusions, by comparing human reasoning with predictions made by computational models of cognition.
Belinda has also published research in climate change psychology, and has experience in forensic psychology, market research, and disability support services.
